Well! Things have been a bit crazy around here. In mid-June Isaac turned one and we had some friends over for a pool party (post to come). I went to Miami for a few day for work. In early July, Grandma Kathy and Aunt Becky came down for a visit. I took the week off. The first few days were rainy and we used the time to go to the Maya Museum here in the hotel zone, and to Casa Rolandi's for some fondue, always a favorite. It was my birthday on July 3 and everyone spoiled me with presents and carrot cake (which we were eating for the rest of the week). Isaac got several gifts as well, including a baby cell phone and baby iPad which lights up and plays songs when you press the buttons. The weather cleared up and Mom, Becky, and I went to Tulum for the day, visiting the Mayan ruins on a scorching hot day and having lunch at Ana y Jose's Beach Club. Tulum has a spectacular beach, very calm and blue. We got gelato on the way out of town.
We hung out at home and around Cancun for a few days, including the obligatory visit to the Harley Davidson store (my uncle Terry, Becky's husband, is a big Harley guy), and also hit up Puerto Morelos. Adam and Becky went snorkeling while Mom and I watched Isaac on the beach. We also went to the pool several times, where we all got fried. All four adults also got food poisoning which lasted 24 hours, and luckily Becky was better in time for her flight. We spent the evenings watching movies and episodes of "Modern Family."
Becky left and I went back to work, while Grandma Kathy hung out the rest of the week with Isaac, Adam and Diony. Isaac just loves carrying things around, whether it's a toy, a dustpan, a hairdryer, Adam's diving flipper, or any other interesting object. We installed his big boy, forward-facing car seat, complete with cup holders. However he found the box that it came in much more interesting. He is just starting to be interested by videos like Pollito Pio, and he cries when it ends until we play it again.
One night we went to Outback, where Isaac took off on his own and headed for the doors at Flamingo Mall next door, which opened automatically. Adam had to chase after him and bring him back. Isaac and Grandma also enjoyed splashing in the pool.
Isaac loves hide and seek, and being chased around the house.
