Grandma Margie came down for a visit at the end of May, bearing designer duds, books and toys for Isaac. His wardrobe is amazing! Included is a full Puma outfit, which makes him look like a little soccer player. Also an animal book that has buttons for each animal's sound, and a glow-in-the-dark rubber ball which lights up when you bounce it. The picture above is Isaac in Adam's vintage "Master of Disaster" t-shirt.
Grandma read a lot to him, and taught him to "kiss" each animal. All that play really tuckers a guy out though!
We had lunch one day at Johnny Rocket's, a 50's diner at La Isla mall near our house, followed by a trip to the local aquarium. Note: the guy petting the stingray is NOT Adam! Even I was fooled until I saw his feet. Then I just thought, "Oh well, this guy's going on the blog."
Margie came down at a key moment in little Isaac's development:
VIDEO: Walking
He can walk pretty welll, at this point he just needs to build up his confidence to let go and start walking.
He and I have had the sniffles lately. That Tempra (baby Tylenol) is like a baby sleeping pill though - he is zonked all night after taking it!
All day yesterday it was just pouring rain. That kind of rain that you think, "this is a cloudburst, it will clear up in a minute," but then it doesn't. We were going to the grocery store but turned around and came home. It was so bad they were actually pumping water OUT of the pool this morning! The pool had overflowed last night. Fortunately this house is better-constructed and situated than the last one, so we had only minor leaks to deal with. We took advantage of the rainy night to watch the classic 1927 German silent film Metropolis. Even by today's standards, it was really wild. It was beautifully shot and the story is very powerful. Definitely recommend if you ever have a spare two and a half hours, it does not disappoint.
