May Activities

New York, New York, it's a wonderful town!  So too bad Isaac and I didn't go.  Adam escaped for five glorious days sans family, to speak at a conference and tour the Big Apple.  Meanwhile, I took the little guy to Galena, Illinois, for the wedding of a good friend.  More details and photos to come later.

This spring has been very busy!  Shortly after Grandma Margie left, we had our respective trips over the weekend, then returned to a visit from Grandpa Mike, followed the very next day by a visit from Theresa and her friend Freda!  After that we went to Miami (me for a week and Adam and Ike for the weekend), and now we are back and taking it easy...or so we thought!

Apparently Isaac thought otherwise.  He has recently learned how to crawl out of his crib, and is practicing it at all hours of the day and at bedtime.  The first night we stood over his crib for three hours, putting him back over and over again.  The second night it was over an hour.  Tonight we thought we had him beat when at dinner at 7:00 he was doing this:

However we soon find out we'd been had when, after tucking him in and tiptoeing away, he opened the door from the inside, smelling of rubbing alcohol.  He had gotten out of his crib and into the closed bathroom door, under the sink, and tasted the rubbing alcohol as well as some hand lotion for good measure.  After a call to the pediatrician, who assured me everything was OK as long as he hadn't ingested much of it, we went back into the room with him for another half hour until he really did fall asleep.  The worst part is he has had us totally spoiled, going to bed without a peep since he was 9 weeks old!  Now this.

Moving on, I owe a lot of photos and information about our visits, and I hope to get to that this month since we are not traveling nor have any plans outside of catch up on sleep.  More to come!
