15 Months Old

Is it possible for a 15-month-old to hit the "terrible twos" phase?  I was counting on another nine months.  Lately Mommy and Daddy's favorite word has been "no."  Hanging out around our house sounds something like this: "No, Isaac.....no.....I said NO.....ISAAC!"  I remember training our dog, Nikki, many years ago, and it's said that when disciplining a dog you should not use the dog's name when saying "no," otherwise they start to associate their name with the word "no."  Now I'm wondering is it the same for kids?

Isaac is very active, running everywhere, opening drawers and taking things out, and lately, climbing up onto anything he can - a stool, a drawer, a chair, a coffee table.  I'm hesitant to give him anything because I know he'll cry when I take it away again.

Meanwhile football season has started and we're figuring out how to watch 16 hours of football on Saturday while watching an active little boy.  It was a lot easier last year when he was only three months old and completely immobile.  He was easily restrained by a couch pillow.  Now the only thing that can hold him back is the front door, and that's only because he can't reach the handle (he can easily defeat the screen door).

Luckily for us, so far he hasn't caught this nasty sore throat that both Adam and I have had the last week or two.  We're on medication now and getting better, but it was pretty rough last week.  Gotta get better for our trip to Illinois at the end of the month!

In unrelated news, Diony has taught him how to bat his eyes upon command.
